Bob Sliskovic has 25 Years experience in pharmaceutical research with an established track record of leadership and productivity. He has extensive expertise directing and coordinating a portfolio of research projects, providing short and long term focus, maintenance of timelines and efficient advancement to key decision points. He has significant knowledge of all disciplines relevant to the drug discovery process and he has developed a broad expertise in multiple therapeutic areas, particularly Cardiovascular, Inflammation, CNS and Dermatology. This knowledge and experience has helped identify 33 clinical candidates, with 12 compounds having progressed to clinical trials, including Lipitor®.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Served as Acting Head of the Chemistry Department ensuring the successful accomplishment of scientific goals and objectives while effectively managing the reduction of operations during organizational downsizing.
- Planned, prioritized and executed a number of therapeutic area research strategies designed to treat cardiovascular, in particular lipid lowering, psychiatric, dermatological, inflammatory, and pain disorders.
- Contributed to the successful establishment of a new therapeutic area by designing an organizational structure and recruiting and staffing the nascent chemistry effort in dermatology.
- Advanced multiple compounds into clinical development for the treatment of cardiovascular (lipid lowering), psychiatric, dermatological, and inflammatory and pain disorders. As a medicinal chemist, researched, synthesized and advanced multiple compounds into advanced clinical development including the Phase III development of avasimibe and Lipitor® which was eventually marketed.
- Sustained record of innovation as evidenced by a substantial publication record including books, book chapters, reviews, original research papers and 57 issued patents.
